Having your “head in the clouds” is an idiom used to describe someone who is not paying attention or who is out of touch with the everyday world; however, with the emergence of cloud computing, this phrase has taken on new significance. Most of us our have our “heads in the cloud” on a daily basis; updating a Facebook status, uploading photos to a photo-sharing site, and checking a bank account from a mobile device all happen in the cloud. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness part remains.

In 2015, flooding in South India claimed over 500 lives, and displaced more than 1.8 million. The city of Chennai was particularly hard-hit.

With an office located in Chennai, Sagitec felt compelled to help their community rebuild. Sagitec teamed up with Aid India and donated funds to have seven homes built for underprivileged families who lost their homes as a result of the flood. All seven homes have been completed and handed over to displaced families.

Data conversion is the process of transforming data from one format to another. While the definition of data conversion may be straightforward, the process itself isn’t. Converting data can be a challenging process; it involves extracting data from its original source, transforming the data into the desired format, and finally, loading the data into a new location.

In a perfect world, a newly implemented software system would go-live with no PIRs (Problem Incident Reports). And everything would look and function exactly how the client had envisioned - flawlessly. Surely, an understandable aspiration; however, let’s look at whether or not that is a realistic expectation.
