Job Description

Sagitec is seeking a full-time experienced senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join the SQL Server Database Administration team. The database administrator will primarily be responsible for administering the database servers of client engagements in a highly available multi server environments ensuring performance, availability, and security. In this role, you will be responsible to perform database tasks including installation and configuration, maintenance and upgrades, pro-active monitoring and performance management, supporting the development teams in query and index optimization, SQL coding best practices, provide operations support, create documentation and deliverables.


  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to production systems.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues.
  • Database modelling.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Provide 24x7 support for production systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Implement SQL Standards and best practices.


  • 8+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Microsoft 2014/2016.
  • Experience with setting up and managing SSRS.
  • Knowledge of setting up and managing High Availability (HA) SQL Always on.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
