Role Overview:

Sagitec is seeking Junior Database Administrator who will assist in the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of database systems. Working under the guidance of senior DBAs, the Junior DBA will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of databases within the organization. This role can be based in either St. Paul, MN or Tampa, FL and will work in a hybrid on-site/remote model. The Jr. DBA will be working varying shift hours and weekends, including participation in on-call support activities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Database Maintenance:

• Assist in database installation, configuration, and upgrading.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, restores, and patch installations.

• Monitor and optimize database performance.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain database security protocols.

• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.  

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

• Investigate and resolve database-related incidents and problems.

• Collaborate with the IT support team to troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting database systems.

Database Design and Development:

• Contribute to the design and development of database schemas and structures.

• Assist in the creation and modification of database objects.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.  

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS).

• Familiarity with database design, normalization, and optimization.

• Knowledge of SQL and database querying languages.

• Basic understanding of database security concepts.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong communication skills.
